A total of eight home renovation projects, which were previously suspended due to circuit breaker are now resumed, said Mr. Burhan Mohamad Ali, business owner of the intermediate design of Artispace Design Studio. In addition to the ongoing project, he also received several new projects from customers who had to put their renovation work on hold.
.With that, Mr. Burhan said he was relieved that the project that were suspended over the past few months are now restored while sharing his concern for customers.
“Furthermore, most of my employees are also local citizens and they can perform themselves handling the projects,” he added, sharing that he had only two foreign workers from Malaysia. So far, my priority is my customer, as some of them have to rent a place of residence or stay in their relatives/siblings’ homes temporarily because their renovation work was hold back.
.On Saturday, the building and construction authorities (BCA) announced that all types of modifications, including new modifications and previously suspended for non-residential premises, will need approval before continuing the renovation work. Over 19,000 suspended home modification projects have received permission to resume since the circuit breaker ended on June 1, BCA said.
Following his new project, Mr Burhan said during the period of the circuit breaker, his company had strived to adapt to the current challenges and prepare for the future. Among them are sending some instances of construction material so that customers can evaluate their quality before making up-to-date choices.
“This is because our business depends on customer confidence in the savings of the material which can only be assessed if they visit our store and it cannot be implemented through video links only,” he explained. In addition to the move, Mr Burhan is currently exploring the three-dimensional digital design (3D visualisation) that can be featured through virtual reality (VR).
.”We are aware of the limitations of existing video link links and with the future preparation, sophisticated digital amenities such as this 3D visualisation that can be displayed through VR will allow customers to view their dream home vision without meeting physically before the renovation work is implemented.”
